social group rides from the cafe. First Sunday of every month. MIXed terrain rolling route. All welcome
OUR MONYHLY Group Rides
Our aim is to be a hub for social rides. This will start with our ‘ No Drop ‘ mixed terrain monthly social rides. These will be on the first Sunday of each month. In time, this may progress to classic group road rides and hopefully mountain bike trains in the future.
MWC
Midweek Casuals. Always Casual Always Wednesday. A mixed terrain for casual road ride in under 2 hours. 7pm Cafe start from the cafe. Off road if trails are dry, on road if damp, off if it’s too bleak.
hOW FAST/hard WILL IT BE?
We are going to start with No Drop Rides, and focus on beautiful routes and the social aspects of riding. This means we will welcome all riders and abilities. As the groups grow we may split into two rides with one taking on a more challenging route or with a suggested faster average speed. Eventually we hope to add in faster group and specific training rides. For these first few rides you can expect the speed to be anything from 18-22kph depending on the route.
Why mixed terrain
We want to keep things simple and fun. Sussex is blessed with the South Downs National park on our doorstep and we couldn’t not exploit the hundreds of fantastic gravel and chalk paths we enjoy all the time. Mixed terrain rides tend to be slower, more relaxed and open up opportunities for more people to join us as we start to build the club. So chuck a pair of 30mm tyres on your road bike or dig out that old mountain bike from the shed and come along on our next ride.
