A choose your own adventure Mass Open Tour.

Organised by Dave and James this will be 3 days, 2 nights over the August Bank Holiday weekend 22nd - 24th, from Porteur to Bath and back via some nice countryside.

Road / Lanes / All-road / Off-road…you decide.

What is a mass open tour?

Somewhere between a long Audax and a bike packing adventure. Each day we will start with a mass depart, with riders reconvening at suggested route stops and finishing points.

We’re aiming for an average of 100 miles per day, so it’ll be a challenging yet rewarding experience for those seeking an unforgettable adventure. Get ready to explore stunning new landscapes and create unforgettable memories with fellow riders. In reality we have set this up for those who want an adventure but don’t fancy taking on a challenge in complete isolation. This is not a large group ride. It’s simply a bike tour. with an agreed start and end point each day. You can ride as fast or relaxed as you like. You can ride in a group or solo. You can stay in a 5 star hotel or camp on a central reservation, all in the knowledge that there will be other riders out on the road taking on their challenge and if you need, you can message the group for help and advice.

What is choose your own adventure?

We’ll give you the endpoints for each day and cafe/pub stops along the way. Between the stops you are encouraged to make your own route too. We will share our route for those who would like to follow or get inspired. It’ll mostly be on quiet roads and bridalways, but you might also choose to go off-road and follow the Southdowns Way and King Alfred Way if you’re feeling adventurous.

Expected itinery

Friday 22nd August. 100 miles Porteur / Winchester / Salisbury

Saturday 23rd August. 120 miles Salisbury / Bath / Newbury

Sunday 24th August. 80 miles Newbury / Farnham / Porteur
